Our Story
A foundation rooted in community
Shelter Island Homecare Foundation, Inc. was established to address a growing need on Long Island’s East End: ensuring that homecare remains accessible, high-quality, and supported by a well-trained workforce.
We were founded by caregivers who saw firsthand the gaps in support for families trying to age at home — and who believed that with the right education, training, and community backing, those gaps could be closed.
Our Mission
To strengthen the future of homecare through education, caregiver support, workforce development, scholarships, advocacy, and community outreach — so that every family can age with dignity at home.
